Job description

Position Title: Mutual Aid & Accessibility Lead

Project: Sacred Threads: Weaving Stories, Land, and Safety

Type: Contract Position Timeline: Late June to October 30, 2025

Hours: Approximately 6 hours per week Compensation: $1,800 (stipend-based contract)

Position Summary:

The Mutual Aid & Accessibility Lead will coordinate the care, access, and safety infrastructure for Sacred Threads, with a focus on creating inclusive and resilient environments. This role is primarily remote with required on-site presence at in-person gatherings.

Key Responsibilities:

● Organize mutual aid offerings (e.g., harm reduction, cooling kits, snacks)

● Coordinate mobility, sensory, and language access needs

● Support calm spaces and event safety protocols

● Gather and co-develop a “We Take Care of Us” toolkit for community distribution

Supervision & Collaboration: The lead will report directly to Kassie Drodge, Community Organizer with Sierra Club Canada and Co-Founder of the Mixed Coast Collective. This role will also involve collaboration with team members across the Mixed Coast Collective and partner organizations focused on access and mutual care.
