Qualifications

• Completion of a 1000-hour clinical internship is mandatory.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Accredited or in the process of becoming accredited with the Canadian Association for Music Therapy.

About the Opportunity

• Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates comprehensive Music Therapy Programs focusing on the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual needs of the residents in a variety of settings.
• Assess the abilities and needs of the population served. Establishes goals and objectives to meet identified needs.
• Addresses all music therapy referrals from the interdisciplinary team.
• Prepares rooms and equipment for music therapy programs; prepares material for clients’ use; cleans up program areas; maintains proper care and level of supplies and equipment.
• Documents client progress; maintains accurate client records; analyzes data to assist in the development of appropriate programs.
• Attends in-services, workshops, conferences, and other educational sessions for ongoing professional development.
• Coordinates and supervises student placements where applicable.

About You

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy, completion of 1000-hour clinical internship.
• Minimum of one-year combined experience in the delivery of music therapy in a health care setting
• Accredited, or in the process of becoming accredited, with the Canadian Association for Music Therapy.
