Description

The Village of Sandalwood Park in Brampton, Ontario, has an exciting opportunity for a Contracted Music Therapist to join our team.

Work Hours: approximately 7.5 hours per week.

Role Summary: As a Music Therapist working as an independent contractor for Schlegel Villages, you will support residents according to their care plans, focusing on enhancing their well-being through music therapy:

• Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and inform future sessions.
• Actively participate in sessions by playing, singing, and listening.
• Encourage residents to engage in sessions and respond musically to support them.
• Help residents explore sound and develop a personal musical language.
• Support residents' creative development and facilitate positive behavioral and emotional changes.
• Qualifications: Degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution and eligibility for accreditation with The Canadian Association of Music Therapists.
• Experience working with seniors is an asset.
