Position Overview

Are you an enthusiastic educator who believes museums are powerful spaces for learning and connection? Join our team as a Museum Educator and help design and deliver engaging programs that make history meaningful to diverse audiences. As a Museum Educator, you will plan, create, and lead educational programs and special events for visitors of all ages. From school tours and hands-on workshops to public lectures and community events, you'll make our exhibitions come alive. You'll also collaborate with the Museum Curator to align programming with current and upcoming exhibits and work closely with schools, heritage groups, and local organizations. Strong communication and presentation skills, excellent organization, and attention to detail are essential. You should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, and familiarity with museum education best practices is a plus. We offer creative freedom to design and lead impactful programs within a supportive and collaborative team environment. This role provides opportunities for professional development and community engagement while playing a key part in shaping how the public connects with history and culture.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a graduate degree in Museum Studies, Critical and Curatorial Studies, Visual Studies, Education or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum two year's programming experience in a museum, art gallery or other cultural institution.

For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.

This is a temporary position until approximately February 1, 2027 or return of the incumbent.

Hours & Days of Work

Tuesday - Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
