Job summary

City of Markham is seeking an Education Programs Supervisor to oversee school and education-based programs, aligning content with curriculum guidelines and marketing the programs within Markham. You will coordinate instructors, volunteers and partners to deliver engaging educational experiences.

The role requires collaboration with educators, administrators and the Museum team, as well as capacity to manage logistics, scheduling, and documentation for diverse programs and events.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Education Studies, Museum Studies, and/or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meets with Program Coordinator and Museum Curator to review exhibition themes and determine the focus of educational programs.
• Researches, reviews and modifies interdisciplinary school programming relevant to curriculum and customer expectations.
• Liaises with teachers/educators, parents and customers to book programs and manage logistics, payments, and on-site needs.
• Assists with co-op education program management and supervises co-op students and work-experience opportunities.
