Job summary

The City of Yellowknife is seeking a Municipal Enforcement Officer I to serve in a dynamic outdoor environment. You will enforce parking provisions in and around the Central Business District, repair meters, collect coins and assist with litter and sidewalk cleaning under the City by-laws.

Candidates should have grade 12, experience in law enforcement or security, a valid NWT Class 5 drivers license and Standard First Aid.

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Municipal Enforcement, the incumbent enforces parking provisions in and around the Central Business District, repairs parking meters, does coin collection from the parking meters, assists with litter enforcement and sidewalk cleaning enforcement under the City's municipal by-laws.

The skills for this position are normally acquired through completion of grade 12 and experience in law enforcement or security. A valid NWT Class 5 driver's license and a Standard First Aid certificate are also required. The incumbent requires effective interpersonal and organizational abilities together with demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.

The City of Yellowknife offers a salary range of $71,566 - $85,601 plus a comprehensive benefits package which includes a defined benefit pension plan and $5400 in annual housing and vacation travel allowances.
