Job summary

The City of Laval is seeking a lawyer to represent the City before Municipal Court and appellate bodies, handling criminal, penal, statutory, and regulatory matters. You will act as legal advisor to City services and work within the Legal Affairs Department in Laval.

Applicants must be Quebec Bar members for at least six years, hold a law degree, and demonstrate strong legal acumen, writing, and teamwork under pressure. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Be a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar for at least six years.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in law and be admitted to the Quebec Bar.
• Experience representing clients before courts and in dispute resolution.

Responsibilities

• Represent the City before common and administrative courts as required.
• Handle criminal, penal, statutory and regulatory matters for municipal needs.
• Advise city services and coordinate with peace officers as needed.
