Job summary

The City of Dawson Creek is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technologist to join our management team as Capital Projects Manager in a full-time, permanent position. Reporting to the Director of Development Services or designate, you will provide staff, and construction and contract management for the City’s capital programs.

This role requires strong project management skills and experience with municipal infrastructure, contract compliance, and cross‑department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Registration as AScT or Alberta equivalent is required or will be considered.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and GPS surveying principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff, project and contract management for capital programs.
• Lead design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with internal departments, consultants and contractors.
• Mentor junior staff and manage cross-department projects.
• Respond to public inquiries and ensure contract compliance.
