Join the Product Solutions Department at Imperial, which has over 140 years of history in Canada and employs approximately 5,500 people. Our office is located in Sarnia, ON.

What role you will play in our team

As a Pipefitter / Boilermaker / Welder / Gasfitter at Imperial Oil Sarnia Site, you will work within the site mechanical department, responsible for routine and turnaround maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation of processing equipment.

This is a two-year fixed-term position.

What you will do
  • Use approved standards to perform maintenance and repairs on pressure vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces, boilers, piping, and structures.
  • Interpret drawings for layout, fabrication, and installation of piping and equipment.
  • Prepare isometric drawings from field measurements for shop fabrication of piping systems.
  • Set up and operate shop and field welding equipment.
  • Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and chrome piping systems using various techniques.
  • Conduct rigging and hoisting activities.
  • Troubleshoot and execute cross-trade tasks based on capability and experience.
  • Perform all work with a focus on injury and incident prevention.
  • Report and document repairs.
About you

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journey Person Pipetter ticket or Certified Red Seal Interprovincial Pipetter.
  • Red Seal Boilermaker Certification or Red Seal Gasfitter Class A / Class 1 Certification.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience, preferably with refinery knowledge.
  • Physical ability to climb, lift, and perform other activities for specified periods.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to respond safely to stress-related work activities and emergencies.
  • Good time management and prioritization skills.
