Job summary

ATB is seeking an Associate, Multi-Unit Financing to join the Commercial Real Estate team. You will underwrite complex commercial credit requests for CMHC programs, act as the main contact for CMHC underwriters, and guide files from submission through to funding on large-scale housing projects across Alberta.

You’ll collaborate with Directors and Relationship Managers, perform detailed financial analyses, and ensure documentation aligns with CMHC and ATB guidelines. Hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 6 years of progressive experience in commercial real estate lending, credit adjudication, or financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience navigating CMHC multi-unit residential products, underwriting guidelines, and submission processes (MLI Select framework highly desirable).
• Advanced financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and the ability to understand complex credit profiles with high attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, liaison with external CMHC partners.
• Proven track record of managing competing deal deadlines independently with a team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex commercial credit applications, identifying key risks, structuring terms and mitigants.
• Perform detailed financial statement and cash flow analysis to calculate covenants and serviceability.
• Coordinate CMHC loan origination from submission to funding with Directors and Relationship Managers.
• Review construction and term draw requests ensuring CMHC guidelines and ATB policies are followed.
• Proactively monitor borrower financials and market trends to identify early warnings and optimize deal flow.
