The Construction division of Northland Properties Corporation is looking for a Multi-Skilled Tradesperson / Handyman for Capital Repairs through Edmonton and British Columbia.

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, your will be assigned to perform Capital Repairs across multiple sites in Edmonton and British Columbia. This role requires proficiency in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and drywall, as well as the ability to work independently and travel for extended periods. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and drywall.
  • Repair, replace, or install framing, doors, windows, and fixtures; construct and assemble basic wooden structures
  • Prepare surfaces by patching and sanding; apply paint, stain, or finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with attention to detail.
  • Troubleshoot and repair leaks, replace pipes, install fixtures, inspect cast iron pipes next to domestic risers and throughout the tower, and ensure compliance with plumbing codes.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct, erect, install, maintain and repair structures, such as foundations, walls, roofs, and columns.
  • Install, repair, or finish drywall, including mudding, taping, and sanding for smooth surfaces.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate material requirements.
  • Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements:

  • +2 years of working experience in in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and drywall.
  • Possesses and maintains necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear.
  • Two professional references
  • A reliable working vehicle and cell phone
  • Ability to travel and work out of town for up to 30 consecutive days.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 8-10 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
  • Must be able to climb scaffoldings.
