About Our Maintenance Technicians

Our Maintenance Technicians are the frontline representatives of Volunteer Properties, embodying our core values and playing a vital role in our industry leadership.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, pool care, and other systems on the property.
  2. Perform maintenance, repair, and installation tasks such as carpentry inside and outside the property.
  3. Prepare vacant units for move-in by painting, updating fixtures, changing locks, replacing windows, and other necessary maintenance.
  4. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, building codes, and system inspections.
  5. Inspect alarm systems and coordinate repairs as needed.
  6. Coordinate with subcontractors for scheduling and assistance.
  7. Manage landscaping, snow/ice removal, and grounds debris.
  8. Conduct pest control activities, including spraying or coordinating professional services.
  9. Perform other assigned tasks as required.
Skills
  1. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance processes.
  3. Mechanical troubleshooting skills for installed systems.
  4. Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  5. Understanding of common appliances and devices.
  6. EPA Certification preferred.
  7. Experience in multi-family apartment maintenance preferred.
Qualifications
  1. 1-2 years of maintenance technician experience in the multi-family industry.
  2. Good physical condition for climbing stairs, kneeling, standing, and walking long distances.
  3. Valid Driver's License for travel among properties.
  4. Willingness to be on-call for emergencies.
  5. Adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  6. Teamwork and alignment with our core values.
