Job summary

Urban Ridge Supplies is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to sit with brokerages and translate real-world servicing into production agents. You will learn their workflows, build Ava for policyholder requests, and feed insights back into the core product.

You will be a Python-focused engineer with backend instincts, capable of shipping quickly and communicating clearly with customers and colleagues. Insurance experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of engineering experience building products used by real people.
• Strong Python skills and solid backend instincts.
• Clear communicator in person and in writing; role involves listening to customers and building for them.
• Experience building with LLMs and agent frameworks like LangGraph or LangChain, including multi-step workflows and state management.
• Insurance experience is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship Ava, the customer-facing servicing agent, for policyholder requests over messaging.
• Map real servicing flows with brokers and translate them into Ava-enabled tasks.
• Embed with brokers to understand servicing today and design agent experiences that replace back-and-forth.
• Integrate Ava into broker systems like Applied Epic to trigger actions in the system of record.
• Own the quality of policyholder experiences over messaging and ensure broker go-live success.

Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Sit with brokers, learn how their work really happens, and ship the agents that do it for them.

About The Role

Insurance-specific AI built for brokerages. A full team of AI agents handles customer service, underwriting, and quoting within a single connected system. We're building the infrastructure to run an insurance business at full capacity: more policies serviced, more quotes out the door, better margins on both.

We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to be our person on the ground inside these brokerages. You'll learn their workflows firsthand, turn them into agents that run in production, and feed everything you learn back into the core product. You'll work directly with the founders.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and ship Ava, our customer-facing servicing agent, that handles policyholder requests over messaging platforms and resolves them end to end.
• Map out real servicing flows with brokers, like certificate requests, policy changes, billing questions, document collection, and claims intake, and turn each into something Ava can run on its own.
• Embed with brokers and their customers to understand how servicing actually happens today, then design the agent experience that replaces the back-and-forth with a single thread that gets things done.
• Integrate Ava directly into the systems brokers run on, like Applied Epic, so a customer message turns into a completed action in the system of record.
• Own the quality of what policyholders experience over messaging, and be the reason a brokerage goes live and keeps its customers happy.

About You

• 2+ years of engineering experience building products real people use.
• Strong Python skills and solid backend instincts.
• A clear communicator in person and in writing. This role is half listening to customers and half building for them.
• You ship fast and care about what lands in production, not just what works in a notebook.
• Experience building with LLMs and agent frameworks like LangGraph or LangChain, including designing multi-step agent workflows, tool calling, and managing state across a conversation.
• Interested in solving hard problems in regulated industries. Insurance experience is a plus, not a requirement.
