MSc (possibly PhD) Position in Quantum Physics – Université de Moncton

Project:Characterizing Quantum States via Non-Invasive Measurements

TheQuantum Phonics Groupat the Université de Moncton (largest Francophone university in Canada outside of Quebec), led by Dr.Lambert Giner, is seeking a motivated graduate student (MSc) to join a research project focused on novel techniques for characterizing quantum states without disturbing them.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Physics is an asset(or international equivalent)
  • Applicants with degrees in Mathematics or Engineering will also be considered if they have successfully completed key physics courses (Quantum Mechanics, Optics, Electromagnetism, Experimental Physics)
  • Language Requirements French proficiency is mandatory.Applicants must specify how they meet or intend to meet the language requirement.

Additional Desired Skills

  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Experience in free-space or integrated optics (e.g., internships or lab work)
  • Programming experience in C#, Python, or MATLAB, demonstrated through coursework or projects

Funding and Support The selected candidate will receive the standard MSc stipend from Dr.Giner’s research grants, supplemented by a teaching assistantship. Students will also be encouraged and supported in applying for external scholarships and will be eligible for internal funding opportunities.
