Job summary

Southlake Health in Newmarket, ON is seeking an MRT-MRI Technologist to join the patient care team and deliver high-quality MRI services with a strong focus on MR safety. The role requires a Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology and CMRTO MR specialization, with 3–5 years of MRI experience preferred.

Candidates should have knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, the ability to inject contrast and insert IVs, and a commitment to ongoing education.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Medical Radiation Technology from an accredited educational institution.
  • Registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario, CMRTO with specialization in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).
  • 3-5 years MRI experience preferred.
  • Safety awareness, including MR safety.

About the role:

The MRT-MRI Technologist is a member of the patient care team, who, in collaboration with other health care professionals provides shockingly excellent patient care through their technical expertise.

What you’ll bring:
  • Diploma/Degree in Medical Radiation Technology from an accredited educational institution
  • Registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario, CMRTO with specialization in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, MRT. (MR) Member of the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRS)
  • 3-5 years MRI experience preferred
  • Safety awareness, including MR safety
  • 3 Tesla MRI experience considered an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of cross sectional anatomy
  • Competent in injecting contrast and inserting IVs is required
  • Point of Care Creatinine iStat training an asset
  • Central Venous Access training through SOLs an asset
  • Demonstrated ongoing continuing education
