Job summary

EERS in Montréal seeks a Tests and Validations Specialist to join our multidisciplinary R&D team and to design state‑of‑the‑art testing for MRI environments, spanning laboratory validation, sub‑module testing, and full system verification under the supervision of the EMC specialist and reporting to the Senior Hardware Design Engineer.

You will develop testing methodologies, build automated test benches for PCBA, EMC and RF validation, and coordinate regulatory tests (IEC, ISO, FDA, Health

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in test engineering
• Knowledge of the medical product development cycle for regulated products
• Proficiency in laboratory testing equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and VNA
• Experience in designing automated test benches (PCBA, EOL) covering RF, EMC and thermal management
• Familiarity with automated test environments (Python, LabVIEW)
• Experience working with electrical and mechanical engineers and product designers

Responsibilities

• Define, plan, and execute validation tests for subsystems and the complete system, in lab and MRI environments
• Collaborate with the development team to establish a test strategy aligned with regulatory requirements (IEC, ISO, FCC, FDA, Health Canada, 510k)
• Develop testing methodologies to simulate environmental testing in laboratories
• Create and maintain documentation of test strategy, specifications, and execution, and analyze data
• Coordinate regulatory testing, including EMC in certified labs and MRI-room environmental tests
• Contribute to product design by identifying potential failure modes and providing DF&T recommendations
• Develop and manage automated test benches for system and subsystems (mechanical, electrical, software)
• Contribute to continuous improvement of validation, traceability, and product quality processes
