Job summary

Trillium Health Partners (Mississauga Hospital) seeks an MRI Technologist to perform MRI examinations, ensure image quality, safety, and patient screening, and assist with training. You may work across THP sites with potential cross-training in another modality.

Registration with CMRT/ CAMRT and Siemens MRI experience are assets. Responsibilities include patient assessment during procedures, documentation, and contributing to optimal patient care in a collaborative environment aligned with THP

Qualifications

  • CAMRT/CMRITO registrations preferred.
  • Experience with Siemens MRI considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI exams per MRI procedure manual.
  • Evaluate image quality and adjust as needed.
  • Screen patients and ensure safety in the MRI suite.
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures; document procedures.
  • Train students and new technologists; support cross-training across THP sites.

Site: Mississauga Hospital (Must be able to work at all three sites as assigned. The Hospital retains the right to change assigned work location to any other THP site either permanently or temporarily based on operational needs. As part of our commitment to flexibility and growth, you may be required to cross-train in at least one other modality to support operational needs across THP)

Hours of Work/Shift: Weekdays - Midnights; 11:30pm to 7:30am

Qualifications

An integral member of the Diagnostic Imaging department, MRI technologist responsibilities include: performing MRI exams as outlined in the MRI procedure manual; operating ,trouble shooting and ensuring that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner; completing all clerical aspects of exam completion; training of students and new technologists; continuing education as required by associations and needs of department; all patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care; observing and understanding hospital visions and values of teamwork, integrity, excellence, customer-focus and innovation while maintaining patient confidentiality; performing cross-functional responsibilities as assigned, or requested; performing other duties related to the job classification, as required.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures as outlined in MRI procedure Manual;
  • Utilizes technical/medical judgement/knowledge to evaluate image quality, and adjusts accordingly;
  • Ensures proper screening procedure for patient and anyone else entering magnet room;
  • Assess the patient’s condition prior to, during, and after procedures; maintains awareness of procedural complications and reactions during and after procedures; recognizes the conditions requiring immediate attention and initiates appropriate response; documents procedures to ensure precise and accurate procedural records are maintained;
  • Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements
  • Completion of MRI Certification Exam required;
  • Contrast injection course, required;
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologist of Ontario (CMRITO) required;
  • Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologist (CAMRT) asset;
  • Experience with Siemens MRI considered an asset.
