Job summary

The successful candidate will hold CMRIT registration, complete an accredited MRI program with placements, and possess credentialing in contrast administration and BLS. Commitment to attendance and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRIT).
• Graduation from an accredited MRI program with placement experience.
• Certificate/training in contrast administration including IV insertion and power injector use.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Demonstrated reliable attendance and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe operation of MRI equipment and adhere to department policies.
• Provide safe, high-quality care to MRI patients and ensure patient safety.
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives within Diagnostic Imaging.
• Collaborate with staff, physicians, and volunteers; uphold teamwork and communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of Brockville General Hospital. The MR Technologist is integral in the provision of safe, high-quality care for the MRI patients while creating a safe environment for staff, family members, physicians, and volunteers. Reporting to the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiovascular Diagnostics, and guided by the MRI Charge Technologist, the MRI Technologist will be responsible for (a) maintaining the safe operation of equipment; (b) upholding all policies and procedures of the department and the organization; (c) providing safe, quality care and services to our patients; and, (d) participating in quality and safety initiatives, (e) other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario
• Successful graduated from an accredited magnetic resonance program
• Successfully completed a placements as part of an accredited magnetic resonance program
• Certificate/ formal training in contrast administration (including IV insertion and the use of a power injector)
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Demonstrated regular work attendance.
