Position: MPLS Test Engineer Student

Number of Positions: 2

Duration: 4 months

Date: September to December 2025

Location: Onsite

Educational Recommendations

Currently a candidate for a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited school in Canada.

Qualifications
  • Solid programming skills (transferable to new languages).
  • A curiosity to learn, reverse engineer, and analyze features or designs thoroughly.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Quick learner, self-starter, capable of working independently.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware architectural components.
  • Experience with source control software (GIT).
Preferred Skills
  • Experience coding software projects beyond typical academic work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Passion for quality.
Responsibilities

As part of our team, you will:

  • Gain knowledge and experience in developing and testing routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, RIP) and signaling protocols (MPLS, RSVP, LDP, PIM, IGMP, MLD, MLDP, SR) used in internet traffic from layers 2-7 of the OSI model.
  • Test router functionalities under scale and stress conditions to push network limits.
  • Develop and improve test automation in a Linux-based regression environment using Python and TCL.
  • Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with testers and developers to investigate and resolve bugs.
  • Monitor automated regression tests to ensure new code does not disrupt existing functionality.
