Job description

Moving helpers are responsible for the most important part of the moving process – packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking the truck. You will be working with both the foreman and the client, so people skills and professionalism are a must. You will need to follow guidelines for safe packing and wrapping of household and commercial items, as well as best loading and unloading practices. At Jake’s Moving and Storage, we specialize in moving large and high-value items like pianos and antiques. As such, you need to know how to pack and move fragile and bulky items delicately and safely.

What are your credentials?

We expect all of our moving helpers to have:

• a high school diploma or GED minimum
• experience working for a moving and/or storage company
• professionalism and strong work ethic
• people skills
• good physical shape
• experience in assembling and disassembling home and office furniture
• ability to lift at least 100 lbs on a daily basis
• knowledge of how to operate moving equipment proficiently
• fluency in oral and written English
