Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Team Leader to oversee and guide our Travel Team. The ideal candidate will be respectful, a team player, and a motivator who can handle challenges with grace while supporting and guiding our volunteers. This role requires a combination of leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for travel and community service.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Attend, participate in, and chair monthly Travel Team meetings
  • Make informed suggestions for upcoming trips based on research, personal experience, or feedback from Volunteers and Centre members
  • Schedule and organize day and casino trips in collaboration with the Trip Committee
  • Organize and maintain Travel Office files
  • Act as a volunteer Bus Escort on trips and perform other duties as required to support the Travel Team’s success.
  • Schedule Travel Office and bus escort volunteers to ensure smooth operations
  • Assist in the Travel Office when needed, which may include selling trip tickets, responding to inquiries, and answering telephone.
  • Promote upcoming trips.
  • Opportunity to lead and support a dynamic team of volunteers.
  • Contribute to the well-being and enjoyment of our senior members by organizing enriching travel experiences.
  • Develop leadership and organizational skills while giving back to the community.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Previous travel experience is an asset.
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to handle challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including email and data management.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with members and volunteers from various multi-cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
