Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Motorhand to maintain rig engines and related equipment on-site. The role supports the Derrickhand and Driller on the drill floor and ensures logging and maintenance records are completed accurately.

The position is full-time seasonal, with responsibilities including housekeeping at the rig site, safety participation, and teamwork with the crew. Must be able to work in varying weather and be away from home as required.

Qualifications

• Previous drilling rig experience as Motorhand.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Fluent in written/spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Regularly maintain drilling rig engines, transmissions, heating systems, generators, motors, hydraulic systems and other mechanical equipment.
• Monitor inventories for fuel, oil filters, lube oils, greases and other service items.
• Maintain equipment logs and preventative maintenance records as required.
• Participate in pre-job safety meetings, hazard assessments and emergency response drills.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and equipment hazards immediately.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout the rig site.
• Work as part of team, communicating and mentoring crew members.

Job description

TheMotorhandis responsible for the maintenance of the equipment specifically related to the engines on rig location. This position is accountable to ensure all equipment is clean and operating properly, assist the Derrickhand and Driller on the drill floor, and ensure completion of log sheets and maintenance records. Will also assist in general housekeeping at rig location.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Previous drilling rig experience working in Motorhand position
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

• Industry Certifications Preferred:
  • H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid with CPR
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
  • Confined Space
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing
• Fluent in Written/Spoken English
• Be willing to work in all weather conditions and work environments with work away from home for periods of time
