Job summary

Western Energy - Well Servicing in Lloydminster, AB seeks a seasoned Driller to lead rig operations on well servicing jobs. You will supervise crew, operate the service rig and BOP components, and coordinate rig-up/down in accordance with client requirements and safety standards.

Responsibilities include mentoring crew, ensuring equipment readiness, and driving the rig between locations. Fluent English, valid Class 5 license, and relevant safety tickets are required; willingness to work rotating

Qualifications

• Previous service rig experience in the Driller role.
• Valid full Class 5 Driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Air Brakes Endorsement preferred.
• Industry tickets: H2S Alive, Standard First Aid with CPR, CSO, Fall Protection, Rig Rescue preferred, Well Service Blowout Prevention (BOP), CAOEC Driller Competency asset.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Willing to work in all weather conditions and travel when required.
• Pass pre-employment testing.

Job description

TheDrilleris an experienced crew member of the well servicing rig crew responsible for overseeing well servicing operations. This includes supervising and directing crew activities, operating the service rig and its components, including rig controls, wellhead equipment, and blowout prevention (BOP) systems, and coordinating all rig-up and rig-down procedures. The Driller is also responsible for driving the service rig between locations, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment, mentoring and developing crew members, and well servicing duties in accordance with client requirements, company procedures and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor all equipment maintenance and report any issues to Rig Manager
• Operation of the rig and its components during all well servicing jobs
• Mentor and train crew members
• Identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate controls
• Participate in incident investigations if required and assist with corrective action implementation.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Previous service rig experience working in Driller position

• Valid full Class 5 Drivers license & reliable transportation
• Air Brakes Endorsement is preferred
• Preferred Industry Tickets:
• H2S Alive
• Standard First Aid with CPR
• CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
• Fall Protection for Rig Work
• Rig Rescue for Rig Work preferred
• Well Service Blowout Prevention (BOP)

• Be willing to work in all weather conditions and work environments with work away from home for periods of time

Driller position is full-time seasonal position. Seasonal work is based on operational requirements, project schedules, weather and environmental conditions and other factors outside our control.
