We’re looking for a highly creative and detail-oriented Motion Graphic & Digital Designer to join our retail client's creative team. In this role, you’ll bring products and campaigns to life through compelling motion graphics and static visuals, all while maintaining brand consistency across multiple touchpoints. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced digital retail environment and enjoys transforming ideas into visually captivating content.

This is a hybrid contract role which requires the motion designers to work at our client's site in Calgary 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Create motion graphic videos and static imagery using product images and marketing copy
• Review creative briefs and develop campaign assets based on project goals
• Ensure all creative assets follow brand guidelines and governance requirements
• Attend creative briefing sessions to understand objectives and project expectations
• Conceptualize and design engaging page layouts that align with deadlines and technical specs
• Research internal and external image databases for inspiration and reference materials
• Collaborate closely with the Producer and Art Director to determine visual direction, including photography, backgrounds, and special effects
• Participate in project reviews and liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure creative alignment
• Assess the reusability of existing photography and recommend new shoots as needed

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Figma
• Working knowledge of Adobe XD and Illustrator is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work within brand guidelines and adapt supplied templates
• Previous experience designing for a digital retailer or eCommerce brand
• Comfortable managing large-scale campaigns with multiple assets
