What is the opportunity?

As a Mortgage Specialist assistant, you will support a top-producing Mortgage Specialist in meeting sales objectives and related activities by providing value-added administrative service and support. You will primarily handle responsive client contact management, develop relationships with service partners to ensure operational guidelines are adhered to, and transactions are processed efficiently.

What will you do?

  • Consistently provide superior responsive service to client requests via fax, e-mail, and telephone
  • Ensure responsive execution and delivery of client transactions/requests
  • Be familiar with key referral sources and possess strong knowledge of the mortgage process to facilitate solutions and problem resolution
  • Maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge to meet position requirements
  • Stay informed of current events, market news, and internal information via RBCnet and other internal sites
  • Manage Mortgage Specialist’s e-mail/mail, respond proactively to correspondence, and prioritize for review
  • Manage the Mortgage Specialist’s diary to optimize time management and create capacity for all activities
  • Oversee office routines and expenses, ensuring efficiency through the availability of equipment and supplies, and effective management of files and records
  • Proactively identify Mortgage Specialist’s needs and provide necessary information/documents to assist in duties; prepare materials for presentations and marketing initiatives
  • Support the Mortgage Specialist in completing and validating Homebase files, ensuring due diligence before submission to Credit Granting

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated excellence in a service and sales support role collaborating with a sales team, providing advice, and responding to client requests
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with good business writing
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with emerging communication technologies (web meetings, social media, digital banking, mobile apps)

Nice-to-have

  • Resourcefulness and ability to work independently
  • Sales-oriented, self-motivated, self-managed, thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of Royal Bank systems including Sales & Service Platform and RBCNet
  • Knowledge of the mortgage process and Home Financing products
