This role involves cultivating, building, and managing relationships with a referral network to generate a pipeline of new mortgage business and increase BMO’s share of the home financing market. Responsibilities include identifying sales opportunities, developing marketing and sales programs, supporting community engagement, guiding customers through mortgage processes, and maintaining compliance with policies and regulations.

  • Proactively contact referral and origination sources through national and local partnerships.
  • Assist with targeted marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Search for cross-sell and up-sell opportunities to meet sales and profitability goals.
  • Support the delivery of marketing campaigns and community involvement activities.
  • Expand networks via referrals and existing relationships.
  • Participate in community events to enhance the Bank’s presence.
  • Serve as a customer advocate during application and processing activities.
  • Complete onboarding and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Guide customers throughout the mortgage application process.
  • Partner with branch teams for customer hand-offs and documentation.
  • Resolve issues promptly and escalate when necessary to meet customer expectations.
  • Refer customers to appropriate banking products and services.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and customer needs.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Maintain operational integrity by completing transactions according to guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships to generate mortgage originations.
  • Perform routine tasks within service level agreements and ensure data accuracy.
  • Think creatively and propose innovative solutions.
  • Work independently with broader responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, sales, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of personal banking, investments, trust services, and commercial lending.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Salary: Commission-based pay. Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications. The listed salary is the expected target for the first year, potentially including performance incentives, bonuses, and benefits such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans.
