We are partnered with all three mortgage insurers, offering insured, insurable, and uninsurable products.

About the role:

This position is ideal for a driven professional eager to join a team of entrepreneurial experts in the FinTech industry, working closely with senior management and enhancing their skills.

Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance and Fraud Management, you will review and assess mortgage applications at both pre- and post-funding stages. You will also serve as a second line of defense in preventing and detecting fraud and money laundering.

If you are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to Strive’s mission of improving the lending experience, we encourage you to apply!

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
  1. Review, analyze, and document assessments of credit applications to ensure compliance with company directives, including evaluating all data elements, financial documents, client info, broker and insurer transmissions, appraisals, and noting policy exceptions.
  2. Conduct regular pre- and post-advance reviews efficiently and objectively, focusing on risk identification related to Credit, Compliance, Fraud Prevention, Detection, and AML.
  3. Provide guidance, recommendations, and reports to management, underwriting staff, and stakeholders on credit issues, findings, and trends.
  4. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing external audit files.
  5. Review serious delinquent accounts as needed and summarize findings.
  6. Offer ongoing feedback on policies and procedures, especially regarding underwriting practices.
  7. Help prepare internal presentations on QA initiatives and monthly reporting, including analysis and trend identification.
  8. Support other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
  9. Complete required training and adhere to confidentiality and regulatory standards.
  10. Act in accordance with Strive’s risk appetite as defined by the RMUP.
  11. Maintain confidentiality for employees, customers, and partners as per the Employee Handbook.
Qualifications:
  1. Previous experience in Quality Assurance and regulatory roles within mortgage lending.
  2. At least 5 years of mortgage lending adjudication experience.
  3. Deep knowledge of mortgage operations, credit policies, and related practices, products, and services.
  4. Ability to manage workflow deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear explanations and recommendations.
  6. Self-motivated and capable of working independently or in teams within an entrepreneurial setting.
  7. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Windows-based PC software.
Preferred but not required:
  • Experience in alternative lending environments.
