Job description

More than 130 years ago, we started with core values that never go out of style: listen, learn, and help businesses and individuals reach their goals. Our financial strength and stability are key reasons Forbes names us one of the Best 100 Banks in America for the past eight consecutive years, and Newsweek names Banner one of the Most Trustworthy Companies for the past four years.
With more than $15 billion in assets and over 150 locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California, we understand our role in the economy and take that responsibility seriously. In addition to offering capital to personal banking clients and businesses of all sizes, we emphasize employee volunteerism and donate millions annually to community organizations.
As a Mortgage Loan Officer with Banner Bank, you will be part of our award-winning Mortgage Lending team, recognized with the 2020 Residential Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Award by the Mortgage Bankers Association. This team delivers superior value to clients by attracting and originating real estate loans that meet Bank standards for economic value and safety, contributing to the Bank's long-term profitability.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
  1. Originate real estate loans from various sources: Realtor business developed through structured outside calling, contractors (Banner Bank customers and others), referrals from branch personnel, the general public through normal business relationships, and walk-in or call-in customers.
  2. Ensure originated loans are correctly set up in the Bank's computer system and processed for underwriting submission.
  3. Identify opportunities and prepare financing sheets for listings and Realtor/builder open houses. Attend weekend open houses and subdivisions for loan solicitation.
  4. Participate in Realtor and Builder Association meetings.
  5. Attend internal training sessions, sales meetings, and external training as assigned.
  6. Meet with clients at branch locations, take applications, and attend closing signing appointments as needed.
  7. Promote homeownership through community outreach, including inclusive marketing efforts near branch locations, first-time homebuyer classes, and community event booths.
  8. Adhere to policies, procedures, security, and government regulations.
