Job description

We are seeking a motivated Mortgage Loan Officer to help clients navigate the home financing process. This role involves building strong relationships with borrowers, assessing financial profiles, and connecting clients with the best mortgage solutions to meet their needs. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of mortgage products, excellent sales skills, and a commitment to delivering top-notch customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Client Consultation & Relationship Building

  • Educate and guide clients through the mortgage loan process.
  • Assess borrowers’ financial situations to determine loan eligibility.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, and referral partners.
  • Provide personalized mortgage solutions that align with clients’ financial goals.

Loan Origination & Processing

  • Collect and review loan applications, financial documents, and credit reports.
  • Work closely with underwriters and processors to ensure smooth loan approvals.
  • Explain loan terms, interest rates, and repayment options to borrowers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and mortgage regulations.

Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, and marketing strategies.
  • Stay up to date with mortgage industry trends and lending guidelines.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and customer satisfaction goals.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 2+ years of mortgage lending or loan origination experience.
  • Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in finance or business is a plus.
  • Licensing: Must hold an active NMLS license.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with mortgage origination software and loan processing systems.
    • Strong knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and Jumbo loan products.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong sales and negotiation abilities.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple loan files efficiently.
