A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Mortgage Cash & Tax Analyst in Toronto. This full-time hybrid role focuses on cash transfers and property tax tasks, requiring post-secondary education and some banking experience. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $28-31 for a 5-month contract, with work primarily in-office from Tuesday to Thursday.
Mortgage Cash & Tax Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to support mortgage accounting activities within a globally recognized insurance organization. This hybrid role is based in Toronto and focuses on cash transfers reconciliation and property tax-related tasks in a fast-paced financial environment.

Full-time position : 37.50 hours per week.
Weekday schedule from 8 am to 4 pm or 9 am to 5 pm.
Hybrid work : in-office Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities :
Perform accurate and timely transfer of cash between operational and borrower-held bank accounts.
Prepare and wire funds to third-party investors per contractual obligations.
Reconcile weekly and monthly correspondent reports; remit fees as required.
Manage cashiering functions including movement of funds across accounts.
Conduct regular reconciliation between bank and internal system balances.
Prepare and peer-review wires and cheques for miscellaneous payments.
Maintain reserve accounts and support commercial tax processes.
Assist with processing and reviewing tax escrow loan payments.
Investigate overdue property taxes and liaise with borrowers or tax authorities.
Review and sign off on major tax changes and quality assurance cases.
Validate daily work of team members to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Follow SOX-compliant procedures for cash handling and reporting.
Contribute to system upgrades and special projects as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues and support the management team as required.
What you will need to succeed :
Post-secondary education required.
6 months of work experience in the banking industry preferably in accounting or cash handling.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; able to adapt quickly to new software / systems.
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
Effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Demonstrated integrity respect and reliability.
Relevant experience in commercial mortgage operations is an asset.
Familiarity with property tax and banking processes is preferred.
