Position Overview

We are hiring an intermediate Infrastructure Networking Engineer to work with one of our clients, an international investment bank based in Montreal. The Network Security Engineer (INET) will oversee, manage, and support IT security infrastructure in production environments across the Americas. This role requires advanced expertise in firewalls, proxies, DNS, load balancers, and strong troubleshooting and implementation skills. The candidate must handle multiple projects, possess deep technical knowledge, and demonstrate project management and communication skills. 24/7 support availability and occasional regional travel are required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot security infrastructure, including firewalls, proxies, DNS, and load balancers, in compliance with standards.
  2. Deploy and manage firewall platforms, specifically Fortinet and CheckPoint.
  3. Support HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS proxies, notably Bluecoat SG Series and McAfee.
  4. Monitor and audit security systems through regular checks.
  5. Document incidents and configurations using SNMP-based reporting tools.
  6. Provide daily operational support, including deployment and troubleshooting.
  7. Perform proactive maintenance such as OS upgrades and hardware patches.
  8. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to define and improve security policies.
  9. Ensure project compliance and address technical challenges with business units.
  10. Adhere to security policies to mitigate risks and ensure stability.

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • At least 3 years as a Network Security Administrator, preferably in financial services.
  • Experience in IT support.
  • Certifications like CISSP, CCSA, or CCSE are advantageous but not mandatory.

Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of load balancing (F5 LTM / GTM), firewalls (CheckPoint, Fortinet), proxies (McAfee, Blue Coat), DNS/DHCP (Infoblox).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network security technologies (clustering, NAT, VPN).
  • Proficiency with CLI commands (Bash, Shell, IOS).
  • Experience with CheckPoint Multi-Domain Server and Fortinet tools.
  • Familiarity with network automation and monitoring tools (HP Network Automation, SolarWinds, Zabbix) is a plus.
