Job summary

Montessori Teachers College is hiring a full-time Guide for the Waterdown Montessori School in Burlington. We seek an individual who embodies the Montessori principles and enjoys working with children aged 18 months to 12 years.

The ideal candidate will have an AMI or MACTE accredited diploma, a positive attitude, and effective communication skills. The position may start as an assistant role depending on experience. Expected start date is mid-December or January 6, 2025.

Qualifications

• Experience in a collaborative Montessori environment.
• Current criminal reference check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Work as a Guide at either the toddler or casa level.
• Plan Montessori programs effectively.

About Us

Waterdown Montessori School has a rich history and has been in the Burlington/Waterdown community for over 40 years. We are a CCMA-accredited school and are fully licensed with the Ministry of Education, offering education for children ages 18 months – 12 years. We are currently seeking a Guide to join us at either the toddler or casa level, with the possibility of it being an assistant role to begin with if you have limited classroom experience.

Requirements

• AMI or MACTE accredited diploma
• previous Montessori experience
• patience, positive attitude, kindness, friendly demeanor and love and respect for children
• ability to work well with others
• outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• excellent program planning skills and thorough knowledge of the Montessori program
• experience working in a collaborative Montessori environment
• current criminal reference check
• current First Aid and CPR and up to date medical records
• we will need two references from you
