Job Purpose

This is a senior clinical social worker position in the Addiction and Mental Health field, guided by the Clinical Consultation Model, which shapes the interventions and philosophy of the work. A Senior Clinical Social Worker/Clinical Mentor is an experienced social worker with several years of working with children and youth with complex needs. This role requires autonomy to provide clinical leadership and guidance to healthcare professionals, external partners, and stakeholders, especially in complex cases and specific subspecialty areas.

Qualifications

  • A University degree in Social Work.
  • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers.
  • Must have five years of clinical experience in community addiction and/or mental health.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability is required.
  • Must have proof of a valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to attend work regularly.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.
Key Responsibilities

  • Completing clinical assessments and providing feedback on assessment and treatment results.
  • Providing advanced clinical and resource advice to addiction and mental health care teams, acting as a liaison, leading case conferences, and making treatment recommendations.
  • Building relationships with partners, providing education, knowledge transfer, and assistance in navigating the addiction and mental health system.
  • Performing work in institutional and community settings, oriented to partner/stakeholder needs, and participating actively in teams.
  • Providing guidance, training, and orientation to staff, students, and healthcare professionals.
Note: These duties are primary; related duties may be assigned as needed.
