Job summary

CMP Group Ltd. in Delta, BC is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator (Mixed Metals) to produce quality non-ferrous gravity castings according to CMP drawings and work instructions.

This full-time permanent role offers day shifts on a Monday to Friday schedule. You will load and control melt furnaces, alloy metals, set up casting moulds and inserts, pour molten metal, skim dross, stamp lot numbers, and package finished castings.

Qualifications

• 1 year of melt furnace operation or mixed metals experience.
• 1 year in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• 1 year of experience using hand and power tools.
• Comfortable in hot environments and pouring molten metal.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Loads and controls operation of the melt furnaces.
• Alloying metals as required.
• Set-up and pre-heat of casting moulds and inserts.
• Pouring molten metal into casting moulds.
• Skim castings and furnaces to minimize slag.
• Stamp lot numbers into castings.
• Remove castings from moulds and package as required.
• Fabrication of inserts, cutting and pressing as required.
• Maintain a clean work area.
