Job summary

Poly-Nova Technologies in Guelph, Ontario is seeking a Mold Technician to support production with mold cleaning, maintenance and rapid troubleshooting. The role starts on day shift (6:50 a.m.–3:00 p.m.) for six weeks, then moves to the afternoon shift (2:50 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) with permanent transfer.

Key duties include removing and replacing molds, performing preventative maintenance on tooling, and communicating issues to Process Technicians and Supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Crane/Scissor Lift/Reach Lift Truck certification and experience preferred.
• 1 to 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment with some knowledge of robots is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Remove and replace molds in presses, including maintenance and storage.
• Perform and record preventative maintenance items on tooling as directed.
• Minor troubleshooting and recommend process improvement related to quality of product.
• Identify and communicate mold/machine issues to Process Technicians, Shift Supervisor, and Maintenance.
• Follow startup procedures for removing and replacing molds.
• Ice blast, media blast, drill pots, and replacing vaccuum seal.
• Perform daily shop inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on injection mold tooling.
• General housekeeping: maintain cleanliness of work areas.
