Job description

On behalf of our growing Barrie client, we are recruiting for a Mold Maker/ Machinist position. The successful candidate will be responsible for design, development, troubleshooting and optimization of molds and dies used in plastic injection molding process.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Diagnose and solve issues related to molding and die processes.
  • Utilize CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce mold parts.
  • Maintain and enhance molds and dies for plastic molding processes.
  • Assemble, fit, and finish mold parts to specifications.
  • Work with Product Designers and Engineers.
  • Implement enhancements to boost the efficiency and performance of molds and dies.
  • Collaborate with production teams to tackle molding challenges and refine processes.
  • Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to create and adjust molds.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, materials, and technologies in molding and die engineering.
  • Other task as assigned.

Preferred experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the maintenance of tooling, molds and plastic injection equipment.
  • Skilled Trade Certificate or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of materials, molding processes, and mold fabrication techniques
  • CAD experience
  • Proficient in CNC programming and operation.
  • Lifting up to 50LBS
