Job summary

Omega Tool Corp is a global leader in plastics tooling design and manufacturing. The Designer is responsible for achieving part function, fit and on-time delivery while aligning with customer standards and internal manufacturing requirements.

Interaction with customers and cross-functional teams is essential, along with compliance to provincial and federal regulations, safety policies, and ISO quality programs.

Qualifications

• Diploma in automotive product design or related trades.
• Minimum 2 years of Mold Designer experience in a similar field.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot customer part data for molding issues and recommend changes for successful results.
• Initialize designs from feasibility through concept and final levels with the surface modeler.
• Adhere to internal and customer mold standards and procedures.
• Populate BOM through software to engage purchasing activities.
• Attend and present mold designs in internal and customer meetings.
• Interact with manifold suppliers for manifold designs and approvals.
• Contribute to a healthy corporate culture with teamwork, respect and continuous improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Designer is responsible for the accurate function, fit and on time delivery meeting the customer standards as well as the internal manufacturing requirements. Direct interaction with the customer is required along with communication with other internal departments throughout the organization. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health & safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Community college diploma in Automotive Product Design or Professional & Trades
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Mold Designer in a similar field.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in using various computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Plastic Injection.
• Experience with assembly-based software is preferred such as NX, Catia, etc.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry, and their applications.
• Capable of recognizing and solving problems.
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritizetasks.
• Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner.

Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
