Job summary

Omega Tool Corp in Canada is seeking a Weekend Mold Maker to fabricate and repair molds while complying with safety policies and ISO quality standards. This role covers Friday to Sunday shifts with a rotating schedule and requires reading blueprints, using precision measurement tools, and operating equipment such as lathes, mills, saws, grinders, and cranes.

You should have formal schooling or apprenticeship in manufacturing and be proficient with Microsoft Office; strong math and geometry

Qualifications

• Proficient reading and interpretation of blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications.
• Ability to read and apply arithmetic and geometry concepts in fabrication.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Willingness to adapt to changing work requirements and schedule.
• Capability to operate heavy equipment such as forklift and crane.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and follow company plans, blue-print designs, and complex work process diagrams.
• Build components using equipment such as metal cutting machines, saws, drills, grinders, lathes and mills.
• Measure for quality control with precision tools to detect defects and report to supervisor.
• Fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during mold build, maintenance, or overhaul.
• Attend customer service calls as needed.
• General housekeeping of working area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Mold Maker

The Weekend Mold Maker is responsible for fabricating and repairing molds. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, company and health and safety policies, and ISO quality program and procedures.

Job Details:

• Weekend Shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Monthly Rotation (6AM-6PM, 6PM-6AM)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Enrolled in OYAP and/or Completion of post secondary education OR Completion of secondary school and a four-year apprenticeship OR college diploma in a manufacturing field or a related discipline
• Proficient in computers with the ability to use various computer applications depending on skill level such as Microsoft Office, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications
• Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry and their applications
• Capable of recognizing and solving problems
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner
• Capable of operating heavy equipment such as a forklift and crane

Responsibilities:

• Measure for quality control using precision tools and equipment to detect equipment malfunctions, out of tolerance parts, and other defects, reporting these to the supervisor
• Fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during mold build, maintenance, or overhaul
• Attend customer service calls as needed
• General housekeeping of working area
• Other duties as assigned

Wage:

$30/hour + Weekend Premium
