Job summary

TD Bank Group in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Senior Analyst for the Trading Risk Model Development group to calibrate, backtest, and improve market risk models (FRTB, VaR). The role collaborates with Technology, MRC, CMRM, MV and other partners to ensure robust risk measurement and model deployment.

The candidate will carry out model calibrations, develop new methodologies, and communicate risk assumptions clearly to stakeholders, contributing to ongoing group projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 years of experience in a model development or model validation role for market risk, counterparty credit risk or pricing models for capital markets.
  • Postgraduate degree in a quantitative field is a must.
  • Strong analytical background, e.g. PhD/Master in physics, mathematics, engineering or Masters of Financial Engineering with appropriate experience.
  • Strong computational and programming knowledge (e.g. Python/C++/VBA).
  • Solid understanding of fundamental concepts and technics in quantitative finance.
  • Strong interest in financial models and concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills is a must.
  • Strong team member with a focus on getting projects done effectively and efficiently.
  • CFA or FRM would be an asset
  • Knowledge of VaR models would be an asset

Job Description: Position Summary

The Trading Risk Model Development group at TD is responsible for the development, maintenance, and calibration of market risk and capital (FRTB) models. We frequently interact with various groups within the bank, including Technology, Market Risk Control (MRC), Capital Market Risk Management (CMRM), Model Validation (MV), etc. We are looking for a strong candidate to join the group at Senior Analyst level (Junior/mid-senior). The successful candidate will work primarily with the TRMD team within Model Development (MD) to help carry out model calibration, backtesting, ad hoc tests and develop new methodologies and models for the measurement of market risk, as well as maintaining and improving methodologies of existing models.
