Job summary

CoFoMo Inc. is seeking a seasoned software engineer to help define the product vision and roadmap, contribute to architectures, and deliver robust mobile and backend components.

You will write well-tested code, conduct reviews, collaborate with designers and architects, improve performance and security, automate tests, document best practices, and help manage priorities in a dynamic Agile environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in software development, with at least 2 years in Android native mobile development (Java/Kotlin).
• Experience building mobile apps and end-to-end testing know-how.
• Proficient in debugging, profiling and performance optimization.
• Experience consuming RESTful/GraphQL APIs in mobile apps.
• Experience working in an Agile team environment.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and developer tools (GitHub, AppCenter, Firebase, Gradle).
• Understanding of project requirements gathering and technical coordination.
• Knowledge of mobile end-to-end testing principles; cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) are a plus.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) is a plus.

Here is a brief overview of the tasks and responsibilities: Contribute to the definition of the vision and roadmap for the products, architectures and solutions marketed and used; Write well-designed, well-tested, readable, and maintainable components, features, and services promoting clean code principles, Explain the different trade-offs made in the decisions; Collaborate with designers and architects to optimize application designs and improve the stability, performance, availability, and security of applications and services; Actively participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge dissemination within your team and practice; Develop, execute and maintain unit, functional, integration, end-2-end tests, etc. and actively participate in their automation; Collaborate with designers and product designers to create impactful user experiences in applications; Proactively participate in the resolution of ongoing incidents; Maintain documentation and practices that can help reduce repetitive decision-making; Manage priorities efficiently and segment your time well.

The profile we are looking for is as follows: Have completed a university degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent; Have proven experience in a software development role (5 years or more), including at least 2 years of experience in Android native mobile development with Java or Kotlin; Have experience in building mobile apps; Have experience in debugging, profiling, and performance optimization; Have experience consuming APIs (RESTful / GraphQL) in a mobile app; Have development experience within an Agile team; Master CI/CD pipelines and developer tools (GitHub, AppCenter, Firebase, Gradle); Understand the needs of the project and participate in gathering the technical requirements; Knowledge of mobile end-to-end testing principles (asset); Knowledge of cloud platforms and related technologies (AWS, Docker and Kubernetes) (asset); Have a good understanding of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) (asset).
