POSITION TITLE: MSE Life Cycle Manager

LOCATION: North Bay

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret

Scope

The MSE Life Cycle Manager is responsible for the life cycle management of all government and company-owned NWS MSE.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Lead for all MSE equipment.

  • Oversee a fleet of mobile support equipment and related assets, including their operations, conditions, and overall performance.
  • Establishes and manages a five-year capital spending fleet replacement program based on program priorities and established spending levels.
  • Manages the procurement of all MSE for NWS

Reporting and trend analysis.

  • Oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of each MSE.
  • Performs trend analysis and Life Cycle Material (LCM) on the MSE Fleet and makes recommendations on replacements.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance programs.

Leads the annual crushing operations.

  • Provides direct supervision on a few operators and mechanics on the annual rock crushing operations.
  • Provides training of Heavy Equipment Operators on the safe operation of the crushing equipment.
  • Measures and provides reports on various quantities of crushed material to Operations and Project Managers.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Provides indirect supervision and work tracking of FMT Vehicle Mechanics in the Zones for all 10 sites.
  • Provides oversight and direct supervision for the annual crushing operations.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with supplier/vendor selection and procurement process demonstrates technical acumen
  • Overseeing the full life cycle of assets from acquisition to disposal.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in fleet management with strong knowledge of vehicle life cycle management and maintenance planning.

Considered an Asset;

  • Trade Certification acquired in Canada; Red Seal considered an asset.
  • Certified Motor Vehicle Mechanic & Truck and Coach Technician (310S & 310T), including Diesel endorsement.
  • Military QL 5 or Journeyman qualification in heavy equipment or heavy-duty mechanic or Automotive Technician

CERTIFICATE(S) / LICENSE(S) Required

  • Hold a valid class ‘G’ driver’s license, or provincial/territorial equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies

  • The MSE Life Cycle Manager must have demonstrated experience in the life cycle management of equipment fleets.
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills, and the ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to work and contribute well independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with customer service orientation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain a Level II (Secret) Clearance or be eligible to obtain one. Approval of security clearance by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate is a condition of employment.
