Responsibilities
  • Being alert and observant while outside, standing or walking for extended periods in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold, etc.).
  • Maintain communication with fellow Security Guards/dispatchers, client personnel and Paladin managerial staff at all times.
  • Ensure all site staff adhere to Paladin Security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation is passed onto the Shift Leads/Dispatchers, client and Paladin leadership team.
  • Complete mobile patrols diligently.
  • Document and investigate security incidents and complaints.
  • Communicate any concerns/issues with Supervisor/Client Service Manager or the client.
  • Report any deficiencies with the vehicle to Paladin leadership team.
  • Ability to work alone and be self-motivated.
  • Maintain the highest standard of security, being professional in attitude, appearance and application.
  • Represent Paladin Security and their customers to enhance quality, image and reputation.
  • Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures and within the laws at federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
  • Record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards during patrols and take corrective action where possible.
  • Be courteous and helpful in enforcing company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Perform duties and tasks as assigned by the Security Leadership team or the client.
  • Respond immediately to emergencies and coordinate response according to established procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Security Leadership team or the client.
Requirements
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid G-Class driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract for the last 3 years
  • Minimum of one year of security experience
  • Willing and able to work overnight shifts and extended driving periods
  • Immunization records including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, COVID-19 and 2-step TB skin tests
  • Able to provide a clean-shaven face to pass an N95 mask fit test
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • Post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Criminology, Border Services, or Protection, Security & Investigation is an asset
  • Must provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) or be able to complete Paladin\'s UOF/MOAB training prior to onboarding
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

Note: The UOF/MOAB certification is a pre-employment requisite not paid; Paladin will cover training costs with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
