Job description

Do you draw blood? Have you ever thought about being your own boss? APPS Paramedical is looking for experienced phlebotomists who would like the opportunity to make their own schedule.

APPS Paramedical is one of the largest paramedical companies in the United States, offering nationwide coverage as we complete insurance physicals for people applying for life, health, or disability insurance products. The Spokane office for APPS is looking for quality medical professionals to help us complete these exams in a timely, professional manner on behalf of the insurance company the policy is being applied through. We are looking for multiple medical professionals for the Wenatchee area. Bilingual is a plus.

Job Summary:

Our independent contractors (ICs) are self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision as they complete quality exams while using their medical know-how. These exams are done on a mobile basis in the home or office of the client and may involve blood draws, medical histories, signatures on packets, vital signs, saliva samples, and 12 lead EKGs. They should be committed to following all compliance policies, as well as safety policies and procedures while remaining sensitive to the need for accuracy and confidentiality in the gathering of client information. Depending on the exam requirements, an exam can last anywhere from 15 minutes to a little over an hour.

Hours:

Set your own schedule! We offer exams 7 days a week and 52 weeks of the year. Most of our contractors have full-time jobs and use this as an opportunity to make even more money each month. We schedule your appointments for you, so you get to focus on what you do best…medical exams!

Territory:

We ask that each IC covers at least a 30-mile radius.

Orientation:

We provide a 3-hour orientation time to verify your skills as well as show you the paperwork and website used by our ICs.

Equipment:

We have equipment such as tablets, EKG machines, and centrifuges for our ICs to rent or purchase. Use of your own equipment will be considered but is not guaranteed.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience, as well as familiarity with taking vital signs. Familiarity with tablets/computers and scanners is a must. Preferred experience with pediatric and geriatric patients/home health. EKG experience is preferred, but not required. Please expect references to be checked as well as a background check and drug test.

Education preferred:

High school diploma or equivalency. A Phlebotomy Medical Assistant certificate is required if drawing blood in the state of Washington.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
  • Certification as a phlebotomist is required.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques related to phlebotomy.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sample collection and labeling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
