Job Description
Full Time - Monday thru Friday 4:30am-10am alternating weekends and holidays
Pay Range: $17.00-$20.00 Based on experience
Mileage Reimbursement!
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by company dispatcher.
- Unload phlebotomy tray and take to patient's bedside to collect samples ordered by physician.
- Identify patients accurately before collecting specimens.
- Collect, label, process, and deliver specimens obtained from patients.
- Reload equipment and all necessary specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery.
- Communicate regularly with dispatcher to report status and location.
- Adhere strictly to Universal Precautions to control blood-borne pathogens and infectious disease exposures.
- Maintain required certifications, health, and operational requirements.
- Keep work area clean and follow all safety precautions at all times.
- Report unsafe conditions, complaints, and problems encountered.
- Monitor supplies inventory and report low stock or expired supplies.
- Report to work promptly, be properly groomed, and wear proper identification at all times when visiting a facility.
- Maintain accurate time records of hours worked and manage shift including meal breaks.
- Follow all procedures related to specimen preservation, patient preparation, and specimen management as written.
- Drive vehicle to client facilities as directed.

- Reload equipment and specimens for delivery.
- Communicate with dispatcher and create required records.
- Use only approved documents and make record changes only per instructions.
- Be available for on-call evenings and weekends, and occasional overtime as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interaction skills, including with pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Respectful and discreet treatment of customers and patients, acknowledging rights to refuse treatment.
- Regular attendance.
- Valid State phlebotomy license (if required).
- Valid State Driver's license, good driving record, and vehicle in good condition.
- Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture techniques.
- Knowledge of laboratory operations.
- Maintain sterile and sanitary conditions.
Physical Demands
Frequent walking, standing, handling, talking, and hearing. Occasional sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. May lift up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment
Potential health hazards in a medical laboratory environment. Must operate safely following health and safety policies, including proper use of PPE. Work in all weather and driving conditions.
