Multiskilled Engineer Required (Electrical/Mechanical)

Area: Otterbourne (SO21)

Salary: £23.16 per hour

Duration: 3 Months Contract (Ends 09/06/2025)

General Overview:

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive call outs on a wide variety of Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering plant. Responsibilities include ensuring all activities are completed safely, timely, and in accordance with contracted specifications, company processes, and procedures. This includes Legionella control, fire alarm testing, and participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota.

Key duties involve performing routine PPM on mechanical and electrical plant as per site schedules and CAFM, completing reactive tasks promptly, and proactively identifying areas for improvement. The engineer must swiftly remedy plant faults and defects to maintain operational order, ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and passed to the Helpdesk, and prepare/use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for safe working practices.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining a safe and healthy working environment, wearing PPE, keeping site log books updated, ensuring plant rooms are tidy, supervising subcontractors, providing flexible cover, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently. The role also involves maintaining compliance with KPIs/SLA, keeping CAFM data accurate, operating Permit to Work systems, and supporting the account management team as needed. The engineer may need to provide emergency support to ensure business continuity.

Electrical Requirements:
  • Base Electrical Qualification (C&G Part A and B or C&G 236 Pt 1 & Pt 2)
  • C&G 2330 Level 2 and 3 or AM1 & AM2 or C&G 2360 Pt 1 & Pt 2
  • 18th Edition (C&G 2382-18)
  • C&G 2391 or 2394/2395 (Electrical Competency)
  • NICEIC Periodic Inspection, Testing, and Certification
Mechanical Requirements:
  • BTEC Level 3 Certification or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • BTEC Level 3 in HVAC
  • C&G 6188 Level 2 Heating and Ventilation or C&G 7188 Level 3
  • Competent Person Mechanical and Pressure Systems
Experience:

Experience in plumbing system maintenance and fault rectification is required.
