Job description

We are seeking a licensed mechanic; however, if no licensed candidates are available, qualified apprentices will be considered.

Reporting to Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidates’ primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Performing safe and efficient maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on a range of traditional and advanced mining equipment

Supporting preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance processes while providing feedback to enhance equipment reliability

Adhering to and promoting all safety policies, procedures, and systems

Identifying and recommending improvements for operational efficiency and equipment performance

Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for daily tasks

Requirements:

  • A valid mechanic licence (Automotive Service Technician, Truck & Coach Technician, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician); in the absence of licenced mechanics, qualified apprentices may be considered
  • Strong motivation, a keen aptitude for learning, and a results-driven approach with a commitment to quality and craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers, engineers, operators, and management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions
  • Familiarity or experience with mining equipment such as Sandvik (loaders, trucks, drills), Atlas Copco/Epiroc (Jumbos), MacLean (bolters, scissor decks), and associated hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and automation systems

Schedule: 5/5/4 with rotating day and night shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
