Position Overview

As a Mobile Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician, you'll be on the front lines, traveling to customer locations to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role offers the perfect blend of independence and hands-on work, allowing you to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic, on-the-go environment. You'll ensure that vehicles are up and running quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing customer satisfaction. If you're a self-starter with a passion for problem-solving and a love for working outside the shop, this is the perfect opportunity for you! This role is an on-call position, hours of work vary.

Job Duties

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and trailers at customer locations
  • Respond to service calls and provide on-site assistance to minimize downtime for customers
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers
  • Test and verify repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards
  • Maintain accurate service records and document work performed on each vehicle
  • Order and install parts as needed to complete repairs efficiently
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair needs and status updates
  • Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and the mobile service vehicle in good working condition
  • Stay current on industry trends, repair techniques, and manufacturer updates to ensure best practices in service delivery

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Red Seal certification or equivalent in Heavy Duty Mechanic/Truck & Transport Technician
  • Proven experience as a Mobile Truck and Trailer Technician
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and adherence to safety standards

Preferred

  • Class 1 or 3 driver's license
  • CVI (Commercial Vehicle Inspection) license
  • Previous experience in a dealership shop environment
