The GÉNESIS Project , led by the Living Stones Foundation, emerges as an innovative and solidarity-driven response to the structural challenges faced in the freight and moving transportation sector in Latin America . Through the design and deployment of a community-based digital platform , this initiative aims to transform a traditionally informal, fragmented, and excluded sector into a collaborative, efficient, and sustainable network , focused on the empowerment of independent drivers, local entrepreneurs, and vulnerable communities .

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mobile Developer passionate about digital innovation and social impact to help bring the GÉNESIS platform to life on mobile devices. You will work with a multidisciplinary team—including software engineers, UI / UX designers, logistics experts, and project managers—to develop a user-centered mobile app that connects independent transporters with opportunities, tools, and financial inclusion.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a regional-scale solution that blends technology, sustainability, and community empowerment .

Key Responsibilities

• Mobile App Development Develop and maintain the mobile version of the GÉNESIS platform (iOS and / or Android) using native or cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter or React Native.
• Backend Integration Ensure seamless connection between mobile frontend and backend services (via RESTful APIs, Firebase, etc.), focusing on performance, security, and scalability.
• UI / UX Implementation Translate Figma or Adobe XD prototypes into responsive, user-friendly mobile interfaces adapted for informal and low-tech user environments.
• Testing and Optimization Perform testing and debugging to ensure performance across devices and in low-bandwidth conditions.
• Collaboration & Communication Maintain consistent communication with the Software Development Lead and Genesis Project Manager. Participate in a weekly team meeting and provide regular progress updates.

Requirements

0–2 years of experience in mobile development (Flutter, React Native, Android Studio, or Swift).

Working knowledge of mobile architecture, version control (Git), and REST APIs.

Ability to share repositories or portfolio (GitHub, GitLab, etc.) during the application process.

Strong communication skills and team collaboration experience.

Familiarity with agile development and remote teamwork.

Availability to attend meetings between 9 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM EST.

Commitment to one weekly group meeting.

Technical interview required prior to onboarding.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building apps for low-connectivity or informal sectors.

Interest in mobility, logistics tech, or the collaborative economy.

Background in or passion for social innovation, financial inclusion, or sustainability.

Spanish proficiency or willingness to work in a bilingual environment.
