Epic Games seeks current PhD students or recent graduates for paid 6-12 month research internships within the Special Projects & Epic Research Group. Qualifications

• PhD or MSc within 12 months of graduation.
• Experience building models in vision, NLP, or speech processing.
• Hands-on knowledge of deep learning methods (Transformers, LLM tuning, diffusion).
• Strong Python coding skills and ML stack (PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn).
• Desirable: game dev experience in C++/C#.

Responsibilities

• Create machine learning models across player safety, agents, world/scene generation, and UX.
• Collaborate with research scientists and programmers on applied problems.
• Own data analysis and data creation with internal labellers support.
• Design, implement, and experiment with models end to end.
• Gain exposure to deploying models at scale.
