Job summary

Lyft is offering an internship in Toronto for Machine Learning Engineers in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Students will design, train, and test ML models and translate research into production-ready code.

The role requires pursuing a CS degree from a Canadian university with a 2027–2028 graduation window, strong Python skills, and familiarity with major ML libraries. The position is in-office on a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science from a Canadian university with graduation between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Summer 2027 internship availability in Toronto.
• Strong Python skills and knowledge of ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, MXNet.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, build, train and test ML models.
• Write production-level code to convert ML models into pipelines.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and ML Engineers to frame ML problems in business terms.
• Analyze experimental data and communicate findings to support decisions.
• Participate in code and spec reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing.
